NUNAVUT SOCCER

The Nunavut Soccer Association (NSA) is the governing body of soccer in Nunavut.  Its aim is to provide competitive, meaningful and memorable soccer/futsal opportunities to Nunavut's youth and adults.  NSA's goal is to be inclusive and provide equal and fair opportunity for all athletes and coaches to participate in NSA sanctioned events.

​

The NSA continues to advocate for hosting Regional / Territorial Championships to promote competition, healthy living and community pride.  These events will provide a regional / territorial competition for both female and males teams in the U15 and U18 age categories.

TOURNAMENTS

Nunavut Soccer will host two youth Territorial Championships in 2025.  The divisions for this years championships will be U15 and U18.  
​
Each division will have a female and male category, which will be used to identify and select athletes for the 2026 futsal teams that will represent Nunavut in the 2026 Arctic Winter Games.

UPCOMING TERRITORIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2025-2026

HIGH PERFORMANCE

Nunavut Soccer (futsal) has competed for Nunavut at the Arctic Winter Games since 1999. Having been consistently competitive at the AWG's over this span has made soccer one of the highest participated sports in Nunavut.

In 2024 Nunavut Soccer reached the AWG podium twice:

​

  • Silver in U18 Male Futsal

  • Bronze in U18 Female Futsal

​

This is the building block for Nunavut Soccer in achieving its ultimate goal of claiming gold in 2026.

Nunavut Soccer will again send four teams to the 2026 Arctic Winter Games being held in Whitehorse, Yukon.  The four categories are:

​

  • Juvenile (U16) Female

  • Juvenile (U16) Male

  • Junior (U18) Female

  • Junior (U18) Male

COACHING

Nunavut Soccer relies on community coaches and volunteers to help soccer grow in the Territory.  NSA takes great pride in providing coach training opportunities for all levels of coaches, be it grassroots to coaching at the Arctic Winter Games.

​

Nunavut Soccer will again be involved in the 2025 NU Sport Coaching Symposium, being held October 3-5, 2025 in Iqaluit.  Coaches will be trained on and off the field during this weekend with emphasis on skill development, offensive strategies and defensive strategies.

​
