HIGH PERFORMANCE

Wrestling Nunavut is one of the Territorial Sport Organizations that competes for Team Nunavut in all of the major games. Over the past 15 years, Wrestling Nunavut has consistently participated in the Arctic Winter Games, North American Indigenous Games, Western Canada Games and Canada Summer Games.

Wrestling Nunavut has consistently been a medal contender at the Arctic Winter Games and North American Indigenous Games. And in 2022 Wrestling provided the first ever gold medal at a Canada Games competition, when Eekeeluak 'Eekie' Avalak, won the gold medal in the 52 kg male division.

This gold medal has inspired multiple youth in Nunavut to take up wrestling and become the next Wrestling Nunavut athlete to compete for Team Nunavut.
Wrestling Nunavut is very excited to announce that we will again be participating in the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John's Newfoundland!

Wrestling Nunavut understands that the more we grow and improve coaching in Nunavut, the more youth will become dedicated to becoming the best version of themselves.

Wrestling Nunavut will again be involved in the 2025 NU Sport Coaching Symposium, being held October 3-5, 2025 in Iqaluit. Coaches will learn the 'Wrestling Nunavut Way' in helping coaches learn proper skill training, both on and off the mat.
